Rural Homestead Terrain

I recently completed a small "Rural Homestead" which consists of a small cottage with adjoining stone walls on a slight elevation. It has a squarish base as I was going for the "wargamey" over "realism" approach. Below are some stills, but if you scroll down you can see a four part tutorial on how to make the piece as well as a video describing its painting/flocking...

  1. Aww. That's a really cute little house, Mr. Smith. It's kind of incongruous to me that we have all these guys with guns hanging around the little house. See, if it were me, I'd probably be putting farm animals and little children around the house, but I don't think that's really what your going for. Farmhouses get caught up in battles anyways, like Hougomont at Waterloo. Although I think that one was a lot bigger than this. Am I right?

  2. Hey Betsy, yes you are right. Hougomont was a farming complex at Waterloo and bigger than the piece I made(but good connection!). I didn't know any of my students meandered over to my blog- nice to see!

  4. Yeah, I was looking to see when we have military history club next (I see declarations are tomorrow--I have to talk to my English teacher, so I might not be there.) and I saw the link so I check it out. You've got a lot of really neat stuff here.
